This self-guided route proposes a tour of the most notable examples of modernist architecture in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, such as the Gabinete Literario or some of the buildings on Triana Street and its surroundings, as well as projects designed by Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre, such as the decoration of the Pérez Galdós Theater.
Nestor was one of the central figures of the modernist-symbolist movement in Spain, as well as decorator, set designer and precursor of Canarian typism. His aesthetic ideology is displayed in some significant enclaves and buildings of the city. Together with his brother, the architect Miguel Martín-Fernández de la Torre, he left as a legacy the neo-Canarian style, present in spaces such as the Pueblo Canario.
