How to move

  • On foot

Walking around Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is an attractive option at any time of the year thanks to its mild climate and the flat layout of the city in its urban center. Two pedestrian avenues run along the seafront, making it easy to get around and offering a panoramic view of the city, the port and its beaches.

  • By bus

The main means of public transport is the guagua (bus), which in the capital of Gran Canaria is characterized by the yellow color of the vehicles. The service provided by Guaguas Municipales covers the entire area of the municipality. In the elongated urban center of the city, which beats around the poles of the historic district of Vegueta and the surroundings of the port and the beach of Las Canteras, connections are direct and frequent and it is easy to take these vehicles at the stops scattered throughout the urban fabric.

Direct payment for each trip costs 1.40 euros, which is paid to the driver inside the vehicle. There are different contactless vouchers available to users. Visitors can opt for the bono compartido, whose minimum recharge is 8.50 euros, and the tourist card for 1 and 3 days, which includes unlimited trips in that period. The vouchers can be purchased at the bus offices and at numerous kiosks.

  • Bicycle / skateboard

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has almost 50 kilometers of bike lanes, a very useful network for getting around the lower part of the city. Moxsi centralizes the public bicycle and scooter rental service, called Sítycleta and Sítyneta respectively. It has both mechanical and electric vehicles, in a sustainable model and at affordable prices.

  • Cab

To stop a free unit on the street (with a green light), just raise your hand. You can also go to one of the cab stands throughout the city or request a cab by phone.

  • Tourist bus

The company City Sightseeing offers its tourist bus service in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, popularly known as the tourist bus. All its itineraries and rates can be consulted on its official website, as well as different details of its routes, which can also be combined with walking routes. Reservations can be made online.

The tourist bus also offers a boat trip service around the Port of Las Palmas.

  • Parking

The city has a network of public parking lots managed by the municipal company Sagulpa, as well as private parking lots. On the surface there are regulated parking areas, marked as blue zone and green zone. Payment for the service is made at the parking meters and in the LPA Park application, which also provides information on the location and occupancy status of both blue and green zones and public parking lots.

  • Intercity transportation

The Global company connects the city with the whole island. It operates in two stations: the Santa Catalina Park Interchange and the San Telmo Park Bus Station.
