Of the five beaches of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, two are located at the entrance of the city from the south. The first, La Laja beach, facing the open sea, also has natural pools. The second, the beach of La Puntilla, small and familiar, in the fishing district of San Cristóbal. A picturesque and simple enclave, with colorful houses at the foot of the Atlantic Ocean, where you can taste fresh fish in its restaurants.
This was a strategic defensive point of the city, of which remains the Tower of San Pedro, raised over the sea.
