Climate

In 1996, the specialized magazine Wheaterwise published an extensive global report on 600 cities that stood out as tourist destinations. The study placed Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as the city with the best climate in the world, according to the work 'Pleasant Weather Ratings', written by Thomas Whitmore and endorsed by Syracuse University. The average annual temperature of the capital of Gran Canaria, 22 degrees Celsius, undoubtedly makes it a privileged enclave. On the one hand, the city offers a friendly climate in winter, ideal as a destination at this time of year. And in summer, its beaches and streets can be enjoyed and explored with less intense heat than in other tourist areas of the Island.

An especially mild climate in the summer, thanks to the trade winds, which soften the effects of the summer sun.

  • Winter

During the winter, the capital also enjoys mild weather for the season, and, above all, many hours of daylight (it gets dark in the middle of the afternoon).
