Visitors to the capital of Gran Canaria have the chance to attend a concert by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. Considered today one of the great formations of Europe, it is heir to a tradition that dates back to 1845, when the Philharmonic Society of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was created.
Under the baton of Karel Mark Chichon and with the presence of outstanding conductors and soloists, it offers a symphonic season that runs from September to July at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, numerous participations in the main musical and cultural events of the island -among them, the opera season and the Canary Islands Music Festival-, as well as an educational project.
Families have their own series of concerts, which are held at the orchestra’s headquarters in the Gabriel Rodó Hall.
