Las Alcaravaneras Beach

Las Alcaravaneras Beach, with its golden sand and almost one kilometre in length, is one of the best port beaches in Spain. Mainly family-oriented and sports-focused, the calm waters—sheltered by the Port of Las Palmas—make it ideal for swimming and practising activities such as canoeing, paddle surfing and sailing.

There is constant sporting activity on the sand, supported by free-use courts for beach volleyball, basketball and beach football.

Las Alcaravaneras is flanked by the Royal Nautical Club (next to the Naval Base) and the Sports Marina, where the Varadero Maritime Club is located. A pedestrian promenade runs alongside the beach, parallel to the Avenida Marítima. A short distance away, crossing this road via the overpass or through the Naval Base, visitors reach the commercial area of Mesa y López.
