Fiestas del Carmen

The Fiestas del Carmen are one of the most unique celebrations of the capital of Gran Canaria. The image of the Virgin presides over different processions that go through the neighborhood of La Isleta: the most peculiar and characteristic, the maritime procession, in the waters of the Port of Las Palmas.

The patron saint of sailors is venerated by the residents of this populous neighborhood, where the altars of adoration on the doors of the houses, the decorated facades and carpets of salt and sand give color and character to these festivities.
