Festivities of La Naval

The second Saturday of October is the big day of the oldest and most traditional celebration of the city, the Fiestas de La Naval, dedicated to the Virgen de La Luz. The neighborhood of La Isleta remembers with these celebrations the failed assault of the English corsairs Francis Drake and John Hawkins in 1595.

Its program of events includes an evening dip in the waters of the beach of Las Canteras and a pilgrimage that begins in Santa Catalina Park, runs along the streets parallel to the promenade of Las Canteras and into La Isleta.
