Commercial areas

For shopping, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has a wide and varied offer of shopping areas distributed throughout the city. The most traditional and important are the Triana shopping area and the Mesa y López shopping area.

In Triana Street and its surroundings are concentrated the big fashion and accessories firms, jewelry and perfume stores; also in the commercial area of Mesa y López, where you can also shop in the department stores located on the avenue that runs along it. Nearby, in the commercial areas of Santa Catalina and Puerto-Canteras, we can still find stores dedicated to electronics, photography and perfumery. Also in the lower part of the city is the Guanarteme-El Pilar shopping area.

In the upper part of the capital of Gran Canaria there are three commercial areas: Schamann-Pedro Infinito, with traditional stores distributed throughout this populous neighborhood, Siete Palmas, with shopping centers and a large business area, and Tamaraceite.

The terraces, always crowded, and the restaurants allow you to take a break and enjoy the local gastronomy and from all corners of the world. And to complete the experience, some shopping areas offer open-air leisure activities for everyone.

Sunday opening
During the high cruise ship season, between October and April, the commercial areas that influence cruise ship passengers’ trips through the city enjoy free opening hours: specifically, the El Muelle shopping center (in the Santa Catalina area), the Mesa y López shopping area and the Las Arenas shopping center in Guanarteme are open on Sundays and holidays during this period.

In addition, every first Sunday of the month, the commercial area of Triana and Vegueta celebrates a leisure and commercial opening day, which includes a program of activities for the whole family.
