Atis Tirma Monument

Work of the artist Manuel Bethencourt Santana, this sculptural ensemble in bronze and stone represents the moment in which, according to tradition, several Canary aborigines – among them Tasarte and Bentejuí – threw themselves into the void from the fortress of Ansite, in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, shouting “Atis Tirma!” (For you, Earth!) in order not to surrender to the conquerors.

It is located in Doramas Park, in front of the Hotel Santa Catalina.
