Aquarium Poem of the Sea

Poema del Mar Aquarium, located at the Sanapú Pier in the Port of Las Palmas, offers a journey through the marine world of the entire planet, showcasing different ecosystems and habitats from all five continents. The visit unfolds through three distinct environments, immersing visitors in the Earth’s exotic habitats, the tropical jungle of the oceans, and the secrets of the dark ocean.

Among its main attractions is the Deep Sea, which allows visitors to observe different species of sharks, rays and bony fish in detail through portholes, a 360° viewing dome, and the largest curved window in the world.

The name of the aquarium pays tribute to the Gran Canaria artist Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre and his work Poema del Atlántico, also known as Poema del Mar.

Poema del Mar Aquarium can be accessed via the Onda Atlántica footbridge, a distinctive architectural structure that spans Avenida Marítima and connects Mercado del Puerto, Las Canteras Beach and La Isleta with Sanapú Pier.
