Juan Pablo II Park is one of the city’s main green lungs: a 120,000-square-metre space with more than 1,000 trees and 700 palm trees, ideal for walking, practising sports, enjoying time with children, sharing moments with family or friends, having a drink, or simply relaxing.
The park features a large 3,000-square-metre lake with several waterfalls, ducks, swans and fish, as well as a children’s playground, a terrace bar, a track for radio-controlled cars, two multi-sport courts, a climbing wall, a 950-metre cycle path and 2,300 metres of walking paths.
At the main entrance to the park stands a sculpture of Pope John Paul II, made of bronze and steel, created by the Gran Canaria artist Manolo González.
