Fundación MAPFRE Canarias occupies a prominent space in Vegueta. It has two buildings: the institutional headquarters, next to the Guiniguada ravine, and the Ponce de León Cultural Building. The latter, designed by the Canary Island artist Manuel Ponce de León in 1867, is located on Castillo Street, where most of the neoclassical buildings that characterize this area of the city are concentrated and accentuate the stately appearance of the place.
In both spaces, Fundación MAPFRE Canarias carries out a wide range of educational, social, prevention, dissemination and cultural activities. It has two exhibition halls, the Institutional Hall and the Ponce de León Hall.
