Africa House

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is home to Casa África, a public consortium that works to bring Africa and Spain closer together from this strategic location. Through outreach, educational, economic and cultural activities, it promotes mutual understanding and strengthens Spanish–African relations.

Casa África is housed in an emblematic building located behind Plaza de La Feria, where it develops an extensive cultural programme focused on cinema, music, literature, performing arts and visual arts. Its central courtyard and various spaces host a wide range of activities and events. The centre features three exhibition halls showcasing works by contemporary African artists, and through its African Literature Programme it promotes the literature and leading authors of the continent.

Casa África also has a mediateca, a specialised documentary and multimedia centre dedicated to African studies, with a particular focus on the sub-Saharan region.
