Insular Stadium Park

In Estadio Insular Park, the grass still holds the memory of the most illustrious players of Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. In its blue and yellow stands, the chant “pío pío”, sung by the fans, can still be heard. This historic venue, which for more than fifty years was the “home” of the island’s first football team, is today a large urban park located in the heart of the city.

The park features 6,000 square metres of lawn and a tree-lined area. It also includes a sports zone with courts and outdoor bio-healthy fitness equipment, as well as a 300-metre running circuit. A children’s playground—the largest in the city—and a café complete the facilities of this leisure space.

Within the park grounds is La Grada, a creative youth space promoted by the City Council, designed to encourage and support the artistic interests and creativity of the city’s young people.
