Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art

The Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria houses an important collection of works—especially paintings, sculptures and pieces of gold and silver work—belonging to the city’s religious heritage. It forms part of the architectural complex of the Cathedral of Santa Ana. Its galleries surround the Patio de los Naranjos, a 17th-century cloister that can be accessed from Espíritu Santo Street or from inside the Cathedral through the Puerta del Aire.

Among the highlights of its collection are works from the 16th-century Flemish school, such as the carving of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, one of the oldest devotional images in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; works from the Castilian and Andalusian schools of the 16th and 17th centuries; and creations by notable Canarian masters, including the sculptor Luján Pérez.

In addition, the Diocesan Museum houses the Musical Archive of the Cathedral of Santa Ana.

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 10:00 to 18:00 (last access: 17:30). Saturdays: from 10:00 to 16:00.
